Village Services

Handicapped Parking Permits

North Hills Village Court is authorized to issue parking permits for Village residents who qualify as physically disabled.  To obtain this parking permit, you must submit a medical certification from your doctor along with a NY Driver’s license or a State ID as proof of residency for the Village of North Hills.  For medical certification, a doctor must complete Part II of the “Application for License Plates and Parking Permits for People with Severe Disabilities” (DMV Form MV-664.1). You can obtain this form by clicking on the link.  It is also available at the Village Office.

The Village can issue temporary permits valid for up to six months or “permanent” permits which expire after 5 years. There is no fee to obtain a permit. We can issue the permit for you while you wait.

Notary Public Services at the Village of North Hills Office

The Village of North Hills offers complimentary Notary Public service for the benefit of the residents of our community.  Walk-in notary services are available from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday.  There are three certified Notary Publics in the village office.  There may be days or times when someone is not available.  We recommend calling the village office at (516) 627-3451 option one, before coming in.

Please read the following before utilizing the Villages Notary Public service:

  • You must bring the complete document, with blanks filled in (except the signature)
  • Do not sign your document in advance. All documents must be signed in the presence of the Notary Public
  • You must bring a current government-issued photo ID. Any one of the following forms of ID is accepted for notarization:
    1. Driver’s license
    2. Passport
    3. State issued ID card
    4. Military ID card
  • Notary Service is free to Village residents

Village Hall Meeting Room Rentals

Village Hall has meeting rooms available to rent after the normal business hours of 9am – 5pm Monday through Thursday. For a fee of $25.00, meeting rooms may be reserved with the permission of the Village Administrator, if not otherwise reserved for Board meetings or other functions.  Use is limited to governmental purpose by any governmental entity other than the Village of North Hills or for a similar use by or on behalf of boards of condominiums or HOA’s whose members consist solely of Village residents or owners of property in the Village.

With the permission of the Board of Trustees, meeting rooms at Village Hall may be used for noncommercial activities which provide significant benefits to the residents of the Village.  A meeting room application form must be submitted to Village Hall along with the meeting room rental fee of $25.00 at the time the reservation is made.  For availability, please call Village Hall at (516)627-3451.
