March 23, 2020

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic Governor Andrew M. Cuomo has announced the signing of the "New York State on PAUSE" executive order, a 10-point policy to assure uniform safety for everyone. It includes a new directive that all non-essential businesses statewide must close personnel functions effective at 8PM on Sunday, March 22. We have been informed that all non-emergency construction services are included in this directive and should be halted until further notice.

If you require an emergency repair due to a plumbing, electrical, or mechanical issue those items may be addressed.

If you should have any questions or concerns regarding this or any issue please feel free to call the Superintendent of the Building Department.

Thank you and stay safe,

Peter Cinquemani R.A.
Superintendent of the Building Department

To protect the health and safety of our residents during the current health emergency declared by Governor Cuomo, and in recognition of legitimate concerns regarding public gatherings, the public hearings with respect to the Buckley Country Day School application, and the RXR bond release application, each presently scheduled to be held at the Village Hall on March 25, 2020 at 7:30pm, will be adjourned to April 15, 2020 at the same time and place.

The Board of Trustees will hold its regular business meeting via conference call on March 25, 2020 to conduct necessary Village business. This meeting will not be open to the public but will be recorded and transcribed.

Village Hall is closed to the public. Village Staff is available via phone and e-mail to answer any questions.

We are sorry for the inconvenience.

A Message from the Mayor

Dear Resident:

In an effort to prevent exposure to the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) the Village has adjourned all public hearings. We have also posted various notices of precaution and safety.

The Center for Disease Control (CDC) recommends several actions you can take to help prevent the spread of this disease:

  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.
  • Stay home if you are sick.
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water.
  • Stay hydrated and drink water frequently during the day.

We hope we all get through the current situation and we ask you to use common sense and take care of yourselves. The health and safety of everyone is of utmost importance during this unprecedented time.

If we can help in any way please do not hesitate to contact the Village.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Deputy Mayor Dennis Sgambati, Trustee Phyllis Lentini, Trustee Elliot Arnold and Trustee Gail Cohen for their diligent services to the Village of North Hills.

Mayor Marvin Natiss
